Supporting Young People Leaving Care in Post-16 Education

LASER ‘Supporting Young People Leaving Care in Post-16 Education’ is a small, Level 3 qualification intended to enhance and recognise the skills and knowledge of the ‘Designated Member of Staff’ in Further and Higher Education Institutions responsible for Care Leavers. It is available to practitioners aged 18 years or older. The recommended number of guided learning hours is 45 hours. Learners are assessed in terms of whether they have met the assessment criteria specified in the units of assessment, and are required to collate a portfolio of evidence.
