If you are in the Brighton area and have considered a change of career and want to go to university but don’t quite have the qualifications you need – 2021 could be the time for you to make that happen.
As part of our focus on January and Spring intakes for Access to HE Diplomas, we are looking at the offer from Aldridge Adult Learning (AAL) based in Foredown Tower, Portslade. Firstly, what an amazing place to study – this former Edwardian water tower houses the largest operational camera obscura in the South East as well as being the home of AAL’s two Access to HE Diplomas.
With AAL you can study for diplomas in Healthcare Professions or Social Sciences, either of which could lead to degree study in a range of subjects and take you on to a new career. New courses will be starting in the spring term and it is not too late to enrol. Find out more at: https://aldridgeadultlearning.com/ – call 01273 422632 or email info@aal.org.uk
Some of the areas LASER students have progressed to include:
HEALTHCARE
Nursing (adult, child, mental health), midwifery, health studies, paramedic practice, occupational therapy, radiography, physiotherapy, healthcare science, podiatry, public health practice, operating department practice
SOCIAL SCIENCES
Psychology, criminology, sociology, criminal justice, social work, teaching, anthropology, politics, public services, business studies, international relations, social policy, sports psychology, counselling, humanities, education, law, child and youth studies
If you are not quite ready for level 3 yet, AAL also offer a Pre-Access course that starts in February,
This course lasts 15 weeks and is an ideal preparation to move onto Access to HE later in the year. They also offer English and Maths courses if you need to brush up on those!
So what are you waiting for? Make 2021 the year you follow your dream and make a lasting change.
