The LASER Level 2 Certificate in Skills for Working in Health and Social Care Professions qualification is designed to prepare learners for entry to a professional career within the health and social care sectors by providing them with the knowledge and skills to progress onto an appropriate programme of training and learning leading to a professional career. Achievement of the qualification will also support learners to enter employment within the sectors. The opportunity to progress onto an Access to Higher Education Diploma is also a potential outcome of achieving this qualification.
The qualification is designed with the flexibility to meet the needs of learners aspiring to progress onto a range of health and social care professions. Learners select one specific health or social care profession to study in more detail, or they can pursue a generic route. The recommended Total Qualification Time (TQT) is 260 hours, with guided learning hours of between 195 and 236 hours depending on the pathway and units chosen.
