COVID 19 UPDATES – Updated 1 October 2021
The DfE and Ofqual have now announced that exams and other formal assessments for all qualifications are expected to go ahead in 2021-22 including those for summer exams in 2022. Ofqual says it has “future-proofed the VTQ Contingency Regulatory Framework (VCRF), so that we could respond to a change in government policy if necessary.” This means that centres should continue with normal assessment for your learners on all our qualifications, and should the need arise later in the year and DfE announce that assessments cannot take place because of Covid, then Ofqual will again consult on allowing special provisions to be made according to need at the time.
Our advice to centres is, once again, to ‘bank’ as much assessment as early as learners are ready, just in case of the need to revert to alternative measures later in the year.
Please find below the DfE and Ofqual publications relating to these decisions, and as ever, please do contact us if you have any specific queries or concerns about any of your learners or provision. In the meantime, we hope all our centre staff and learners stay safe and well.
